About Alex Thomas
Alex Thomas
I am a broadcaster with more than three decades of experience, most of it at global news organisations like CNN, Sky, ITN and the BBC.
I have specialised in sports coverage for news shows and channels – presenting and reporting from the biggest events on the planet, including several Olympics (summer & winter), FIFA World Cups, European Championships, Champions League finals, tennis & golf majors (French Open, Wimbledon, The Open), the Ryder Cup, cricket and rugby World Cups.
Equally at home hosting from the ground at major championships, in the studio, documentary/magazine shows, conferences, round table panels, conferences or public panel discussions. Live or scripted, I consider myself a multi-platform journalist for TV, radio, digital, social and online.
I have interviewed many of the world’s star athletes and leading sports figures, from David Beckham to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Serena Williams to Novak Djokovic, Lewis Hamilton to Jamie Chadwick, Gianni Infantino to Adam Silver, Usain Bolt to Sanya Richards-Ross, Lydia Ko to Rory McIlroy – and that’s just scratching the surface.
But I have also covered the unsung heroes, the human interest stories that we can all relate to. Not to mention breaking news, when corruption, racism, homophobia, doping, abuse scandals and tragedy make sport the headline of the day …
From local and national radio, to network television and global news coverage, I have been trusted to travel the world to tell and explain the stories that shape our world.
